Recollections from The Crescent, 1933: The Lake Placid Convention gave to the new Council elected there certain definite tasks to accomplish, namely to divide the country into Provinces, collect Endowment Fund pledges, revise the Constitution, Bylaws and Standing Rules and organize the Central Office so that it would eventually to go Chicago for a permanent location, in addition to the regular routine of running the affairs of the Sorority…We divided the country into seven Provinces and sent notices to the chapters notifying them of the new alignment. We asked one chapter in each Province to hold a conference and elect a Province director and secretary, thus providing a method of annual inspection for each chapter. After correspondence about available candidates and plans of organization, we had all of the Provinces functioning by the fall of 1926 and every chapter was visited during that college year…Our Central Office secretary gathered all of the available information in books which were furnished to the Province directors…we put our best efforts into all of these tasks and rejoice that so much advance has been made continually in administering the affairs of the Sorority, which has occupied so large a place in our affections. Laura Latimer Graham served as Grand President from 1926-28.
