Lindsey Barbee (Denver, 1897) attended the University of Denver and was initiated into Theta Chapter in 1897. Lindsey would go on to devote much of her time and energy to Gamma Phi Beta throughout her life.
Lindsey is the longest serving editor of The Crescent. She was appointed editor in 1910 by Grand President Mabel E. Stone (Syracuse, 1893) and held the role until 1938. During those 28 years, she also held other positions with Gamma Phi Beta. Lindsey was Grand President from 1919 to 1924, the director of public relations from 1924 to 1927 and historian from 1924 to 1930. She also published The Story of Gamma Phi Beta in 1921. She was an accomplished woman, a devoted Gamma Phi Beta and inspiring leader to many women, both within Gamma Phi Beta and in the wider world.
Lindsey died on April 8, 1951. That year a Memorial Fund was established to which members can contribute in honor of her and other devoted Gamma Phi Beta sisters.
